Didactic presentations will be combined with interactive discussions on hot topics in GI cancer management, allowing for an interactive interchange of critical clinical information.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe new frontiers in Immunogenetics in GI cancers
- Describe advances in minimally invasive surgery for upper GI cancers, and applications of liquid biopsies in GI malignancies
- Define new surgery options for hepatobiliary cancers
- Define the role of vaccine therapy in GI cancers
- Review the role of emerging technologies (e.g., artificial intelligence and informatics) in decision-making
- Discuss the opportunities and challenges with pathologic reporting in GI cancers, and describe strategies to overcome obstacles faced when implementing precision medicine trials
- Identify emerging treatment strategies for colorectal cancer
- Identify treatment options for challenging clinical cases in pancreatic, rectal, and colorectal cancers
